Randy Cavaiani is a managing director of Malek Capital Advisors.
Cavaiani has held executive marketing and business development positions at large multinationals BMW, Microsoft, and Texas Instruments. His corporate experience is complemented by leadership roles at three startups – a Motorola spinoff, a mobile Internet company, and a self-funded marketing agency. The scope of his experience, ranging from boardroom to entrepreneurial upstarts, affords him a unique perspective in the key elements of starting, building, marketing, and realizing maximum business value for his companies and clients.
Most recently, at BMW Group, Cavaiani was Sr. Director of Product Marketing and Partner Management, where he led the product roadmap definition, concept validation, consumer insights and analytics, go-to-market strategy, and partner management for BMW Connected digital mobility services.
Prior to BMW, Cavaiani was the Head of Marketing at Microsoft’s Xpress Internet Services Division, where he was instrumental in the integration of internet technologies into more than a half-billion mobile phones, generating over 100 million monthly active users.
Cavaiani was Vice President of global marketing and business development at Novarra, a technology startup that pioneered cloud-based mobile Internet services for key industry players like Verizon Wireless, Vodafone, and Yahoo!, and was acquired by Nokia in 2010.
Earlier in his career, Cavaiani was Vice President of North America for National Semiconductor (now Texas Instruments). He led marketing and sales for the company’s most important global customers in the personal computing, networking, and communications segments, growing revenue more than 50% in two years to over $400 million.
